    Summary:

    The Pre-Approval Customer Due Diligence Investigator 1 will investigate and review customers considered to be restricted per Huntington policy and determine eligibility for onboarding and/or expansion of the relationship. Maintain a working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering efforts, USA PATRIOT Act and OFAC and awareness of industry best practices as well as knowledge of restricted customer types.Duties & Responsibilities:

     

    Performs research and analysis of restricted customer and prospective customers through public records, media or other research tools.

     

    Review customer transactional activity in combination with the customer profile to determine to determine if the customer falls within the bank’s risk tolerance.Effectively communicates both in writing and verbally with Huntington Segment colleagues and Risk Partners to obtain additional information and documentation.

     

    Performs enhanced due diligence on high-risk and restricted individuals and businesses.

     

    Recommends appropriate follow-up and possible account closure for customers that exceed the Bank’s risk tolerance.Adheres to department SLAs, while also maintaining productivity and quality standards.

     

    Participates in presentation of high-risk customers to Senior Management.Identifies areas for process improvements.Flexible to perform other functions as requested by management

    Basic Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma required.

    + 1 or more years of investigative experience required with a focus in Enhanced Due Diligence or Customer Risk Management.

    + In lieu of EDD experience, 2 or more years of investigative experience in AML/BSA

    + Excellent writing skills, with experience writing in a concise and understandable format.

    + Excellent critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills in a high-pressure environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Understanding of Huntington’s High Risk and Restricted Customer Policy

    + Knowledge of federal regulations (USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council etc.)

    + SAR experience

    + Higher level education/courses in Intelligence Studies and/or Criminal Justice preferred.

    + Knowledge of BSA and AML required, working experience is preferred

    + Professional certification (i.e. CAMS, CFE) preferred

    + Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with professionalism, courtesy and tact

    + Ability to shift priorities as needed to meet demand

    + Basic PC skills - MS Word, Excel, web based applications

    + Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

    + Analytical and Problem Solving abilities

    + Strong attention to detail

    + Self-motivated, deadline driven and able to work in an ever changing environment

    + Ability to utilize multiple bank systems concurrently
