About this Job
The mission of Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) is to provide programming that is intelligent, informative, educational and entertaining. LPB connects the citizens of the state by creating content that showcases Louisiana’s unique history, people, places and events.
LPB is a state network of six non-commercial television stations in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, and Shreveport licensed to the Louisiana Educational Television Authority (LETA), established in 1971 by the Louisiana Legislature. LPB is also affiliated with WLAE-TV in New Orleans.
LPB airs quality national PBS programming including PBS NewsHour, MASTERPIECE, NOVA, NATURE, Antiques Roadshow, Great Performances, as well the many educational programs from PBS KIDS. In addition to its main channel (LPB1), LPB and PBS have a 24/7 children’s channel (LPB2), and LPB and Create TV have a how-to and lifestyle channel.
The Production Department is looking for aTV Senior Producer 2 to join its creative team focused on advancing the agency's mission of telling Louisiana stories. The ideal candidate should have experience in writing, producing, and directing short and long-form content, both broadcast and digital, including but not limited to programs on sports, art, and culture, as well as experience directing multi-camera live events and in Adobe Premiere Editing Software. The TV Senior Producer must be comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and able to work calmly and collaboratively under pressure. This producer may also be assigned interdepartmental work that advances the agency’s mission. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to produce dynamic, entertaining, and audience-appropriate content that enhances market reach and boosts viewer engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
Six years of production experience in television, radio, or multimedia; OR
A bachelor’s degree in film studies, broadcasting, digital media, cinematography, or communications plus three years of production experience in television, radio, or multimedia.

Job Duties:
As the Television Senior Producer 2 you will be responsible for managing all elements of a TV production, from the initial concept to the final delivery, making sure that high-quality content is produced on schedule and within budget. This role entails leading teams, overseeing resources, and collaborating with various stakeholders to bring a project to completion.
In summary, the senior producer serves as a project manager, a creative leader, and a technical authority, all in one, ensuring the successful execution of television productions.
- Developing and managing project timelines and deliverables.
- Collaborating with directors, writers, and other creative team members.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and resolving production challenges.
- Preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Negotiating with vendors and suppliers.
- Staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practice

Appointment Type: Promotional (open to all LETA permanent status employees)
Work Schedule:Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday; however, varying work schedules are offered.
