Within the engineering division for mammography equipment, you will join the image quality team. Your position is based in Milwaukee, USA, co-located with our XR-engineering team. You will have frequent interactions with the team in Buc, France, as well as with our U.S.-based customers. You will be involved in research and development in the field of X-ray Breast Imaging. Mammography systems today are capable of generating 2D projection images, 3D volumes (tomosynthesis), and contrast-enhanced images using different X-ray spectra. As a physics engineer specializing in the acquisition chain, your first mission will be to work with our US customer and ensure we understand and fix specific customer complaints. You will travel to meet our customer to understand their clinical needs and feedbacks on our solutions, as well as conduct benchmarks and tests to help develop and/or characterization new components in this acquisition chain, or on optimizing existing system components in direct and local interaction with our France based Team. You will have strong interactions and collaboration with the experts in advanced clinical applications, system and software architecture.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
+ Work with customers to solve and ensure quality on our installed base, answering customers complaints, including testing & characterization at customer site.
+ Collect customer feedbacks on image quality to be able to use them in R&D for future development.
+ Contribute to the definition and implementation of imaging features, work across functions in the definition, requirements identification, implementation, integration, and verification.
+ Work with customers, marketing, clinical, and field personnel to identify and refine requirement flow-down to imaging feature.
+ Test and characterize component features that impact image quality.
+ Define how components will be integrated into the product to achieve image quality goals.
+ Develop initial prototypes, perform tests to characterize performance, gather clinical feedback as needed, summarize and review results with other engineers.
+ Develop requirements, design, verification, technical reviews, and other technical documentation.
+ Work with other teams in the implementation of features.
+ Execute formal verification tests and create appropriate documentation as needed.
+ Own and/or support root cause investigation of issues for released and unreleased products.
+ Work independently and contribute to achieve project goals.
+ 50% of travel
Required Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in Physics with Prior working experience and understanding of X-Ray physics.
+ Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis, simulation, and user interface development (Python etc..).
+ Effective communication skills and boundary-less behavior—ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
+ Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems.
+ Demonstrated ability to pursue tasks to completion.
+ Broad exposure to HW/SW/Systems design.
