    Our mission is to administer the waters of the State to maximize lawful beneficial use, ensure that dams and water wells are properly constructed and safe, and provide information about water resources to the public. Division of Water Resources (https://dwr.colorado.gov/)

     

    The work unit administers, distributes, and regulates water of the Colorado River according to the prior appropriation doctrine, pursuant to Colorado Statutes, and in compliance with the Colorado River Compact; and to perform the functions of the Hydrographic and Dam Safety Branches within the Colorado River Basin.

    Description of Job

    OPEN ONLY TO CURRENT RESIDENTS OF COLORADO

    As an Augmentation Plan Coordinator, this position is responsible for analyzing and administering decreed plans for augmentation and administratively approved substitute water supply plans and exchanges, which includes reviewing the adequacy of user-supplied water use data and accounting and conformance with statutes, decrees, well permits, and terms and conditions contained within plans for augmentation and substitute water supply plans. The position is responsible for creating and reviewing water use reporting forms and extracting data from said forms for incorporation into water administration spreadsheets and diversion records. When a deficiency is determined, the Augmentation Plan Coordinator drafts a Notice of Deficiency for review and signature by the supervisor, and tracks and monitors all correspondence related to the deficiency until compliance is achieved.

     

    As an Augmentation Plan Technician, this position is responsible for technical and administrative support for the Augmentation Plan Team, in addition to general administrative and clerical support for all staff in theDivision 5 Office (https://drive.google.com/file/d/17l-YaUWwock0rp35qvaTTlUOCaiCNBip/view) . These tasks include clerical assistance and technical support for the work unit staff by receiving incoming telephone calls and public walk-ins and assisting with or directing inquiries to appropriate staff members; receiving, filing, sorting, and routing incoming digital documents, spreadsheets, and user-supplied data; word processing, editing, and organizing documents, letters, and reports; maintaining digital filing systems.

    Specific job duties include but are not limited to:

    + Determines the adequacy of water user-supplied data and water rights accounting and reviews for conformance with statutes, decrees, augmentation plans, and substitute water supply plans.

    + Creates and reviews electronic water use reporting forms for augmentation plans that replace out-of-priority depletions resulting from groundwater diversions.

    + This position will be responsible for the receiving, processing, distributing, and archiving of all correspondence and submittals required as by the Division Engineer for the administration and data collection for plans for augmentation and complex municipal water diversion systems.

    + Develop methods for and perform quality control on data submittals and notices for: Reporting of Annual and Monthly Accounting; Administrative Orders; Notice of Annual Reporting late reporting.

    + Answers customer inquiries as initial point of contact by answering telephone calls, greeting walk-ins, and responding to emails.

    + This position will locate organize process and scan documents drawings and maps into Laserfiche using DWR standardized templates and fields for identification of document types and attributes for indexing systems.

    Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Four (4) years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to

     

    the position.

    AND

    High school diploma or GED

    OR

    Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

     

    (Experience in accounting, water operations accounting, water administration or the use, control and application of water rights on a farm or ranch, or other experience related to water or natural resources is considered related experience.)
