Compliance and NCAA Liaison Manager

Essential functions (job duties):
Job Purpose
Responsible for managing day-to-day NCAA compliance operations, academic eligibility processes, and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) education and monitoring. This position will also coordinate athletic scholarships and financial aid, serve as a liaison with campus departments, and support student-athlete development. monitoring and mentoring of university constituencies regarding legislation and preparation of reports and waivers. Develop a variety of detailed reports, informational pieces, and analysis. This position reports to the Associate Athletic Director of Student Support Services.
Essential Functions
NCAA Compliance Monitoring & Education:
+ Monitor NCAA, conference, and institutional rules to ensure departmental compliance.
+ Oversee all compliance systems, including ARMS, LSDBi, Eligibility Center, and NCAA Compliance Assistant.
+ Maintain and track student-athlete forms, eligibility checklists, recruiting logs, CARA logs, official/unofficial visits, and playing/practice seasons.
+ Conduct internal audits and manage waiver submissions, interpretations, and self-reports.
+ Establish and deliver rules education initiatives for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and campus partners.
Financial Aid and Scholarship Processing:
+ Process and monitor all athletic scholarships and related financial aid, in partnership with the Financial Aid Office.
+ Track team scholarship limits and individual counters to ensure compliance with NCAA financial aid legislation.
+ Coordinate with housing and student accounts on scholarship disbursement and billing issues.
Academic Advising & Eligibility Support:
+ Review and determine initial and continuing academic eligibility for all student-athletes.
+ Collaborate with academic advisors and the registrar to ensure alignment with NCAA progress-toward-degree requirements.
+ Compile and submit all eligibility checklists.
Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) Education & Tracking:
+ Serve as the department lead on NIL compliance and education.
+ Manage NIL disclosure and monitoring platforms (e.g., INFLCR, Opendorse).
+ Educate student-athletes on NCAA and institutional NIL policies, reporting requirements, and eligibility impacts.
+ Coordinate programming on branding, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship.
Administrative and Special Projects:
+ Provide support for academic initiatives, including APR tracking, data collection for NCAA/institutional reporting, and academic recognition nominations.
+ Assist with the coordination and delivery of student-athlete development programming, including leadership, wellness, and life skills initiatives.
+ Participate in cross-campus initiatives that support student-athlete success and well-being.
+ Serve on departmental and university committees, contributing to strategic planning, inclusive excellence efforts, and compliance-related task forces.
+ Support special projects assigned by the Associate AD, including annual reporting, strategic priorities, and educational programming.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree.
Additional Education Information: Graduation from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree preferred.
Experience
Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience).
Two years’ experience in athletics, rules and compliance.
Previous supervisory experience involving the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures.
Previous experience managing people.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Effective interpersonal and customer service skills. Must demonstrate and possess a high level of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality. Ability to handle pressure situations including dealing with sensitive and confidential situations.
PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Identifies and solves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes data skillfully.
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS: Demonstrated skills in attention to detail, prioritizing work assignments and responding to deadlines. Must also demonstrate effective organization and management skills.
BUSINESS ACUMEN: Understands objectives and mission of department and work unit; looks for ways to improve process and quality. Knowledgeable of University admissions and financial aid procedures. Must possess a solid commitment to student academic achievements. Knowledge of university operations. A good working understanding of the student athlete experience and its relationship to the university’s mission.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Excellent computer skills. Knowledge of Legislative Services Database - NCAA Database (LSDBI), Banner and Compliance Assistant - NCAA Database (CAI).
BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE: A thorough knowledge of NCAA legislation and database access.
