    QUALIFICATIONS:NYS Certification in Speech & Hearing

     

    NYS Certification in Teacher of Speech & Hearing Handicapped

     

    NYS License (ASHA Certification Preferred

     

    SALARY RANGE: $43,654 - $90,747 (MA),Prorated to .5 FTE

    GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Conduct speech and language evaluations of students referred by parents, Principals, or the Director of Student Services and provide results and reports in a timely fashion.

    + Meet with parents of referred students to review speech and language evaluations.

    + Conduct other assessments and screenings as needed including Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten.

    + Be a resource for district employees for information relating to a student's diagnosis or disability and offer suggestions on ways to better facilitate learning for students.

    + Attend CSE, CPSE, and 504 committee meetings, as needed.

    + Provide individual and/or small group therapy sessions to students.

    + Make referrals to local and regional agencies, as needed.

    + Maintain confidentiality and complete Medicaid paperwork for reimbursement.

    + Establish and maintain cooperative, positive relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

    + Carry out other duties as required by the Director of Special Education and the Principal.

    + Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, district policy and administrative regulations.

    + Maintain accurate, complete, & correct records as required by law, district policy & administrative regulation.

    + Reports to the Director of Student Services and the Principal.

    + Performs related duties as required or assigned by administration.
