    Job Summary

    The Clinical and Translational Science Institute ( CTSI )’s**Community Collaboration and Engagement Team**( CCET ) is hiring a Research Coordinator. The mission of the CCET is to support researchers, individuals, institutions, agencies, patients, providers, and other stakeholders in developing successful research collaborations that address researchers’ interests and communities’ health needs. CCET services provide a structured setting for researchers to enhance their research projects by learning from community experts. Through these services, CCET facilitates collaborations between researchers and community members to develop community-engaged research methods, instruments, and educational materials for research projects.

     

    The CCET Research Coordinator will work with various academic and community stakeholders to develop, coordinate, and manage projects in fulfillment of CCET services. We seek someone with experience in community-engaged research methodologies or approaches, a passion for working with communities, and skills in areas such as organization, process, and timeline management. The coordinator will be able to multitask and prioritize competing tasks and deadlines, demonstrating the ability to make informed decisions under pressure from clients on various projects at different stages of completion. This position requires a team player who possesses excellent leadership and listening skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and exceptional people skills. As the CCET often works with Spanish-speaking community members, applicants with Spanish language fluency are strongly preferred.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    + Coordinates with CCET leadership, team members, researchers, and community members to facilitate the timely completion of service projects.

    + Represents CCET to internal and external stakeholders in meetings, events, and written communication. Develops and maintains stakeholder trust and confidence. Develops community-engaged collaborations and partnerships to facilitate service project requests.

    + Conducts work under minimal supervision, using independent judgment to fulfill project needs and complete work within deadlines

    Prepares for CCET services by:

    + Leads initial consultations with researchers to determine how CCET services can support their research.

    + Provides guidance and recommendations to researchers on best practices and scientific approaches for community-engaged or participatory research.

    + Recruiting community members to represent stakeholder voices at service-related events.

    + Organizing logistics of a service project, including directing or delegating activities of CCET team members on complex projects.

    Leads the execution of CCET project services, including:

    + Serves as project liaison for outside stakeholders and internal leadership, along with research team staff or investigator(s)

    + Creates and maintains tools and documents to track CCET services.

    + Develops materials or inputs needed for service delivery and reporting.

    + Facilitating discussions with community members during service sessions (individually and in group settings).

    + Support training of new CCET team members on engagement services, analysis, and reporting

    + Completing summary reports and other deliverables on time.

    + Tracking service expenses for invoice generation.

    + Tracks and reports project progress; monitors project quality and effectiveness.

    + Collaborate with the team to develop and implement enhanced service methodologies.

    + Must have own transportation and current driver’s license. Some evening and weekend hours required.

    Bachelor’s degree **or** 8 years of relevant work experience

    Preferences

     

    + Applicant must have previous training and experience in research and research processes, and a preference for previous experience in community-engaged or participatory research methods. Strong preference for applicants who are fluent in both spoken and written Spanish. Applicant must have experience in team-based settings. Applicant must have excellent interpersonal, public, oral, and written communication skills. Comfortable building new relationships and talking with individuals and groups in sensitive situations. Experience leading and facilitating groups and/or teaching is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc., and virtual collaboration software such as Teams or Zoom. Must have own transportation and current driver’s license.
