    Are you a skilled Biomedical Engineer looking for a new opportunity? Look no further than Leidos! Leidos is seeking a **Biomedical Engineer I** to perform biomedical research in the Environmental Health Effects Laboratory (EHEL) at the Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton, OH to support inhalation and occupational exposure research studies and analyses to identify health effects before health and operational performance is compromised in the warfighter. You will also perform routine and non-routine set-up and maintenance of critical exposure systems and devices, to include the preparation of exposure systems and analytical equipment for specific research protocols, operation of exposure systems during testing and data collection, routine preventive maintenance of exposure systems and devices, and data collection and recording from research conducted on the devices is integral to this position.

    The Challenge:

    + Contribute to the design and development, construction and operation of exposure chambers/systems and devices to support toxicology and physiology research.

    + Operate analytical chemical and gas measurement instruments.

    + Execute research protocols in support of research objectives, including environmental and physiological monitoring and monitoring exposure systems.

    + Analyze and compile data to deliver to principal investigators (PIs).

    + Write exposure technical reports.

    + Test, evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and calibrate biomedical equipment, specifically exposure systems and analytical equipment.

    + Document all work in laboratory notebooks, technical reports, and documentation binders.

    What sets you apart:

    + Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering preferred, or a relevant engineering field

    + Experience or listed coursework in design, development, engineering, testing, and evaluation of biomedical technologies and devices. Make sure experience or coursework is clearly listed on resume.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    + Proficiency in with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel,

    + Ability to analyze data using various analysis techniques.

    + Attention to detail and ability to follow all safety requirements and regulations is essential.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance, priority may be given to those who already have this clearance. Current clearance is not necessary to start.

    + Due to US Government requirements, US Citizenship is necessary

    You Might Also Have:

    + Experience in a military or medical research environment is highly desired.

    + Experience in design and testing of exposure test systems is highly desired.

    + Experience in animal research.

    + Proficiency in MATLAB and R is highly desired.

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $50,050.00 - $90,475.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
