How will you make an impact in this role?
We are seeking a visionary and highly motivated Vice President of Engineering to lead our Marketing Audience & Journey organization. In this pivotal role, you will guide the engineering, solutions, and central re-platforming teams, driving the transformation of our marketing capabilities and the evolution toward utilizing our next gen big data platform.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and innovative leader with a strong engineering background, deep expertise in marketing technology engineering, a requirement for this role, big data technologies-especially on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and a passion for advancing data observability, re-platform acceleration, and cutting-edge data engineering solutions. Solid understanding of Adobe’s marketing products such as AEP, CDP, AJO and CJA are a requirement.
+ Define and execute a strategic roadmap for the Marketing Audience & Journey organization, aligning with overall business objective and leading the transition to next-generation MarTech implementation
+ Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering, solutions and re-platforming teams. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, engineering excellence, and continuous learning
+ Drive the architecture, design and implementation of scalable, reliable and optimized marketing engineering capabilities and practices on Adobe and Google Cloud Platform
+ Champion best practices in software engineering, data engineering and operations within the big data ecosystem.
+ Implement a comprehensive experience-based marketing ecosystem along with observability strategies and tools to ensure agility, data quality, reliability and performance across the platform.
+ Oversee the development and deployment of advanced data engineering and transformation capabilities, enabling sophisticated data analysis, business intelligence and machine learning use cases. Partner with stakeholders to define and deliver enterprise-wide impactful data solutions.
+ Work closely with product management, federated data teams, data science, analytics teams, and other business units to understand marketing needs and deliver solutions that drive business value.
+ Work with peers, Principal Engineers and Principal Architects to assimilate emerging trends and technologies in the marketing, big data, cloud, and analytics landscape. Evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies to enhance platform capabilities and drive innovation.
+ Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels across functions, from both technical and non-technical perspectives alike; able to lead business and technology conversations with SVP and/or EVP level business leaders
Qualifications
+ 15 years of large-scale technology delivery and engineering management in a complex environment and/or comparable experience – with at least 3 years of experience in marketing technology
+ Ability to champion and drive cross-organizational development efforts for the optimization of application monitoring and resiliency capabilities.
+ Ability to drive accountability for quality aspects in release, system performance, platform availability, operational efficiency, risk management, information security and data management.
+ Demonstrated track record of building teams that can lead and influence the organization in understanding, valuing and demonstrating modern reliability engineering practices.
+ Ability to provide thought leadership and build coalitions across Development, Product, Infrastructure, Architecture and Operations that advance accountability for high availability and scalability to meet market demands.
+ Track record of creating an environment of innovation and continuous improvement, leading changes that drive efficiencies into existing engineering and delivery processes.
+ Experience in Implementing tools, automation and processes to ensure software is released in a streamlined and reliable manner from development to production.
+ Demonstrated leadership of software development practices to build marketing technology software solutions, keeping the customer and stakeholders in key focus.
+ Track record of adhering to compliance targets and enterprise security standards.
+ Catalyst for forward-thinking behaviors, remaining current on modern technology-leading trends.
+ Ability to attract, retain and grow top talent across the organization, providing guidance, career development and mentorship to team members.
+ Demonstrated passion for marketing technology engineering.
+ Extensive experience as a leader within a Technology organization and/or in a product development company with experience developing observability and self-healing capabilities.
+ BSc. Computer Science and MSc in Computer Science or equivalent specialization required.
+ Demonstrated knowledge depth in the following Abode products (AEM, AEP, CDP, AJO, ODE, CJA).
Qualifications
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
Salary Range: $210,000.00 to $300,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
