Associate Corporate Counsel
**PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:** The Associate Corporate Counsel plays a key role in supporting the Legal Department by managing a variety of legal matters with a focus on litigation support, regulatory compliance, and corporate legal operations. The role works on a broad range of legal issues with experienced in-house counsel and cross-functional teams.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES MAY INCLUDE
+ Manages, investigates and responds to lawsuits and legal claims made against the company.
+ Reviews, analyzes, and coordinates responses to indemnification demands from insureds, vendors, and third parties.
+ Supports e-discovery efforts, including document collection, review, and production in collaboration with internal teams and outside counsel.
+ Retains, coordinates, and manages outside counsel on litigation and regulatory matters.
+ Responds to regulatory inquiries, audits, and complaints from state departments of insurance and other government agencies.
+ Drafts and reviews legal correspondence, memoranda, and basic agreements related to insurance operations and corporate matters.
+ Collaborates with internal departments such as claims, underwriting, compliance, and risk management to ensure legal alignment and risk mitigation.
+ Maintains and updates legal files, case tracking systems, and litigation databases.
+ Conducts legal research and provides analysis on a variety of insurance, corporate, and regulatory topics.
+ Contributes to compliance initiatives and internal policy development.
+ Participates in special projects as assigned.
+ Stays up to date on legal developments and industry best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited college or university required. Active license to practice law in at least one U.S jurisdiction required. Six (6) years of related experience in insurance services related disputes and litigation, insurance services regulatory obligations, employment, or corporate law or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Skills & Knowledge
+ Foundational understanding of insurance law, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks
+ Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and e-discovery protocols
+ Awareness of state and federal regulatory bodies relevant to insurance and corporate operations
+ Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
+ Ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents
+ Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
+ Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
+ Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
+ High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
+ Demonstrated interest in insurance litigation, compliance, or corporate law
+ Eagerness to learn and grow within a corporate legal environment
+ Ability to work independently while also contributing to team initiatives
+ Commitment to continuous professional development and legal education
+ Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
