Description

Our client is looking for a skilled Procurement / Strategic Sourcing Specialist to oversee procurement strategies for capital construction projects in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is critical in ensuring the availability of services, controlling costs, mitigating risks, and fostering supplier diversity. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and legal departments to develop robust supply chain strategies and negotiate contracts effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored for capital construction projects, focusing on cost control, risk mitigation, and supplier diversity.

• Lead competitive sourcing initiatives and guide solicitation teams through the solicitation process.

• Manage contract negotiations, redlining, and execution in collaboration with legal teams and business units.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance service quality, pricing, and diverse supplier participation.

• Conduct market analyses to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings within the construction category.

• Monitor supplier performance and compliance, addressing any issues to ensure high standards are maintained.

• Serve as a trusted advisor on procurement processes and best practices for assigned categories of spend.

• Create and distribute both standard and complex purchase orders efficiently and in alignment with project requirements.

• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain to drive efficiency.

• Mentor and cross-train team members while documenting job responsibilities for knowledge sharing.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on construction projects.

• Proven expertise in purchasing functions, materials procurement, and supplier management.

• Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Exceptional analytical skills for evaluating market trends and supplier performance.

• Solid understanding of utilities and construction projects, including procurement best practices.

• Ability to manage complex contract negotiations and ensure compliance with company policies.

• Experience in fostering supplier diversity and driving cost-saving initiatives.

• High ethical standards and professionalism in representing the company to the supplier community.
