Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join a boutique domestic and family law firm in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, you will provide essential support to attorneys by managing case files, coordinating schedules, and facilitating court filings. Your expertise in legal procedures and organizational skills will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal processes.

• Prepare and submit electronic court filings in compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.

• Assist attorneys in managing civil litigation cases, including drafting documents and organizing case files.

• Maintain and update calendars for court appearances, client meetings, and deadlines.

• Provide litigation support by conducting research and gathering necessary case materials.

• Coordinate family law matters, including document preparation and communication with clients.

• Organize and maintain legal documents to ensure accessibility and accuracy.

• Monitor case progress and follow up on pending tasks to ensure timely completion.

• Communicate with court officials, clients, and other parties to facilitate case management.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.

• Proficiency in e-filing and court filing systems.

• Solid understanding of civil litigation procedures and family law.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Familiarity with litigation support tools and processes.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
