Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Failure Analysis Labs in Essex Junction, VT (Fab 9). This role involves diagnosing and understanding electrical failures in semiconductor components, providing root cause analysis of those failures, and providing feedback to the manufacturing process owners.
Essential Responsibilities include:
+ Provide electrical fault isolation analysis support to localize failures and determine root cause of failures in devices.
+ Provide root cause analysis of failures to FAB process owners to eliminate the failures.
+ Support lab management in equipment installation, upkeep and maintenance.
+ Support new techniques, methods and development plans to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Other Responsibilities:
+ Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
+ Education – Graduating with Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited degree program.
+ Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.
+ Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
+ Travel - Up to 10%
+ Physical Capacity Demands – ability to lift 25lbs/Stand for long periods of time/and the ability to use hand tools and polish wheels
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior related internship or co-op experience.
+ Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
+ Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong planning & organizational skills
+ Established hands-on Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) skillsets to perform electrical fault isolation using photoemission, thermal, and laser scanning techniques with a good understanding of the strengths and limitations of each technique.
+ Established hands-on Physical Failure Analyisis (PFA) skillsets including mechanical polishing/delayering, SEM inspection, FIB analysis and chemical etch procedures, for sample preparation and defect viewing
+ Experience operating measurement instruments i.e. Semiconductor Parameter Analyzer
+ Candidate should be motivated, committed, work well in teams, and be an excellent communicator
+ Able to support some overtime and weekend shift (if required)

Expected Salary Range
$54,200.00 - $110,300.00
The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
