    Job Title: Accounts Payable SpecialistJob Description

     

    The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable department. This role involves maintaining vendor files, auditing invoices, processing purchase orders and expense reports, and ensuring accurate sales tax reporting.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain the Accounts Payable Vendor files to ensure proper payment.

    + Audit coded monthly invoices for accuracy and authorized signatures.

    + Process service purchase order invoices, ensuring goods receipt accuracy.

    + Audit and process employee expense reports for bank direct deposits and computer processing.

    + Audit check requests for proper backup information.

    + Conduct one check run and one employee expense reimbursement weekly.

    + Provide backup support to the Associate Manager and manage daily AP mail distribution.

    + Ensure correct sales tax reporting on vendor invoices, including self-assessed state sales tax.

    + Maintain and update Excel or Word schedules/forms used by AP.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven experience in accounts payable with a minimum of 2 years.

    + Proficiency in SAP is mandatory.

    + Strong data entry skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in accounting.

    + Detail-oriented with excellent auditing skills.

    Work Environment

    This is a fully remote opportunity, ideally suited for candidates in CST and EST time zones, though open to other time zones as well. The position may extend beyond three months with the possibility of conversion to hire. Core working hours are from 9 AM to 3 PM. You will collaborate with a dedicated team member from the Accounts Payable department and will receive training primarily from the Shared Services Manager. The work involves minimal use of Excel and primarily utilizes SAP and other shared services tools. The team is part of a large corporate environment, offering the chance to be involved in a global corporate team.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.84/hr.
