    Position summary:

    The Measurement Controls Technician is responsible for the design, acquisition, programming, installation, calibration, and repair of all measurement and control equipment in the BHE Wyoming Gas Distribution and Transmission System. Responsible for coordinating maintenance and troubleshooting of cathodic protection, odorization, and SCADA systems.

     

    Pay Range:$31.56 - $47.24 per hour (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

     

    Reporting Relationship: Gas Transmission & Measurement Supervisor

    Essential Functions:

    • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain natural gas transmission and distribution systems.

    • Perform required patrols, inspections, and maintenance on valves, regulator stations, odorization equipment, cathodic protection equipment, and SCADA equipment.

    • Perform meter reading, meter turn ons and shut offs, new meter sets-including large volume.

    • Responsible for implementing and maintaining all phases of electronic measurement and measurement control equipment including the installation, operation and maintenance of all gas pipeline related facilities.

    • Participate in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans.

    • Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping per federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Perform all work in compliance with Company Standards, procedures, regulatory and tariff requirements.

    • Perform tasks that are defined as safety-sensitive and is subject to DOT workplace drug & alcohol testing.

    • Responsible for inspection of customer owned piping installations.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for standby on high pressure line crossings.

    • Responsible for emergency response to damaged facilities, both Company and customer owned.

    • Required to carry a company-provided cell phone and be available to respond during working hours; Required to respond during non-working hours as needed, especially related to company emergencies.

    What Is Required:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent

    • Valid and In-State driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers upon hire.

    What Is Desired:

    • Minimum of 3 years of natural gas industry, required, experience in measurement or other relevant experience

    • Working knowledge of industry construction standards and procedures.

    • Ability to complete computer-based Operator Qualification certifications and pass Hands On assessments.

    • Ability to work safely in a variety of crucial situations, while keeping the interest of life and property as paramount.

    • General knowledge of SCADA, Cathodic Protection, Gas Odorization, Gas Regulation & Metering systems.

    • Ability to successfully work independently or with a team.

    • Knowledge of gas chromatography, both theory and application.

    • Working knowledge of various components of measurement error.

    • General knowledge of regulators and relief valves found on project lines and main lines and general meter sets.

    • Skilled at job planning and prioritization.

    • Intermediate computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, operating systems, company software).
