    Job Title: Resident Project RepresentativeJob Description

     

    The Resident Project Representative will be responsible for conducting on-site observations to monitor the progress and quality of work in accordance with contract documents. This role serves as the engineer’s liaison with the contractor, maintains adequate records including a daily logbook and a set of drawings on which authorized changes are noted, and reviews the contractor’s applications for payment, among other duties.

    Responsibilities

    + Remain on the job site for the entirety of the project’s construction.

    + Maintain detailed reports of the progress of the work and the contractor’s compliance with the progress schedule.

    + Review progress schedules, shop drawings and sample submittals, and other contractor-prepared submissions.

    + Attend meetings with the contractor, such as preconstruction conferences and progress meetings.

    + Comply with site safety programs.

    + Assist the engineer in serving as the owner’s liaison with the contractor.

    + Review applications for payment with the contractor for compliance with submission procedures.

    + Forward any recommendations to the assigned engineer.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Professional experience in construction and/or construction inspection of underground utilities systems, including water and sewer lines, and treatment plants.

    + Ability to read civil construction plans and specifications.

    + Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

    + Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and stay overnight as needed.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience as Construction Inspectors/RPRs with civil inspection experience.

    + Experience as Construction Team Leads, Foremen, or Managers with 5+ years of experience within underground wet utilities and/or treatment plants.

    + Familiarity with various types of testing for water/sewer pipe installations, such as pressure testing, air testing, and disinfection testing.

    Work Environment

    The role requires travel throughout the State of Indiana, with accommodations provided if necessary. Candidates will use their personal vehicle with mileage reimbursed. The work involves standard construction hours from 7 AM to 4 PM, with potential overtime. The environment includes working in all weather conditions, with a focus on water and wastewater construction projects. Safety compliance and effective record-keeping are essential.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.50/hr.
