Job Title: Assistant SuperintendentJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Superintendent to join our team in New York. As a leading firm in construction management, engineering, environmental, architectural, and program management solutions, we offer exciting opportunities for growth and development. This role involves working on a project for the NYS Office of General Services, ensuring the highest standards of construction compliance and quality.

Responsibilities

+ Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with building standards and project specifications.

+ Inspect all material upon arrival to the jobsite to ensure compliance.

+ Document inspections and report any issues.

+ Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to complete each project on time.

+ Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project.

+ Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute their job duties effectively and efficiently.

+ Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location.

+ Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site.

+ Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage workloads of individual projects.

+ Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary.

Essential Skills

+ OSHA 30 certification.

+ Minimum three years of trade experience or comparable training in inspection of large-scale building projects valued above $1 million.

+ Ability to work autonomously, follow procedures, and interpret contract documents.

+ Proficient in understanding and interpreting contract documents, including specifications and drawings.

+ Experience in new building construction, major renovations, civil work, and the installation and commissioning of electrical systems.

+ Strong written and oral communication skills with a collaborative approach.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Willingness to work inside minimum and maximum security prisons.

+ Ability to respond to calls off normal hours and occasionally work extra hours to meet project needs.

+ Experience in maintaining field and office records and performing quantity computations.

+ Knowledgeable and experienced with the Uniform Building Code.

+ Proficiency with web-based submittal collaboration systems.

Work Environment

The role involves working directly on site at correctional facilities within various locations in New York, including Saranac Lake. The work environment is dynamic, requiring travel between multiple job sites and collaboration with a diverse team of professionals. Dress code and safety protocols are strictly adhered to.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
