Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL. This role is ideal for someone with a strong experience in real-time embedded systems and a passion for working on mission-critical defense technologies. You’ll be part of a collaborative Agile team developing software that powers advanced navigation, control, and targeting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop and maintain embedded software using C++ and Ada for real-time applications deployed in defense systems.
+ Implement complex functionalities such as:
+ GPS-aided inertial navigation: Integrate sensor data to enhance positional accuracy in dynamic environments.
+ Guidance and autopilot algorithms: Enable autonomous flight and targeting capabilities.
+ Launch sequence and control: Coordinate timing and execution of launch procedures.
+ Gimbal Line-of-Sight (LOS) control: Manage stabilization and tracking of sensor payloads.
+ IR seeker image processing: Process infrared imagery for target detection and tracking.
+ Mission data transfer and 1553 interface algorithms: Ensure reliable communication between subsystems using MIL-STD-1553 protocols.
+ Perform hardware/software integration by working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to validate system performance.
+ Drive the full software development lifecycle, including:
+ Requirements analysis with systems engineering teams.
+ Designing modular and scalable software architectures.
+ Coding and unit testing with a focus on reliability and performance.
+ Integration and verification in lab and field environments.
+ Collaborate in Agile teams using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) to manage sprints, track progress, and document technical decisions.
Required Qualifications:
+ Active Secret Clearance
+ Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in embedded software development.
+ Strong proficiency in C++ and hands-on experience with Ada.
+ Experience with real-time systems, including interrupt handling, memory management, and timing constraints.
+ Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tool suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with defense or aerospace systems.
+ Experience with sensor fusion, control systems, or image processing.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
+ Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $98.99/hr.
