Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine installations, repairs, and maintenance on production equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

+ Perform routine installations, repairs, and maintenance on production equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance.

+ Safely troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues in a timely manner.

+ Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

+ Install, maintain, and troubleshoot PLCs and other control systems.

+ Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

+ Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

+ Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and schedules.

+ Provide training and support to other maintenance staff as needed.

+ Assist with audits and inspections by outside agencies.

Essential Skills

+ High School Diploma

+ Minimum of 2 years in a similar position or demonstrated aptitude

+ Ability to use basic math skills

+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical issues

+ Experience with production machinery including baggers, form fill seal pouchers, auger fillers, cappers, cartoners, Tronix labelers, Videojet printers, Bellmark printers, and ribbon mixers

+ Basic plumbing skills

+ Fabricating, welding, and grinding skills

+ Pneumatics and machining skills

+ Ability to read blueprints and basic schematics

+ Demonstrated attendance and work reliability

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to adhere and promote Good Manufacturing Practices within the plant

+ Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if necessary

+ Attends and participates in all training programs required by the company

Employees must be prepared to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays if necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bolingbrook, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
