Job Title: Electronic Technician

Job Description

As an Electronic Technician, you will provide engineering technical services including planning, designing, modifying, installing, interfacing, testing, evaluating, repairing, and documenting the operation and performance of airborne test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and ground support equipment. This role requires proficiency in analog and digital electronic fundamentals, solid-state devices, digital logic and techniques, RF modulation techniques, and electromechanical drive mechanisms.

Responsibilities

+ Plan, design, modify, install, interface, test, evaluate, repair, and document airborne test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

+ Proficiently interpret and apply electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, wire diagrams, block diagrams, and technical publications.

+ Operate test equipment like multi-meter, O-scope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, frequency meter, and logic probe for checkout, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair.

+ Fabricate cables, harnesses, populate electronic assemblies, and perform soldering, crimping, and wire terminations.

+ Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, and integrated circuits to the component level.

+ Upload and download instrumentation pods to/from aircraft.

+ Perform hands-on electrical, instrumentation, and avionics maintenance on aircraft.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and high-power RF devices.

+ At least 4 years of hands-on experience.

+ Expert-level troubleshooting and soldering capabilities.

+ Must qualify for and maintain a Security Clearance.

Work Environment

Work in a field environment that includes shift work, overtime, and travel to remote locations with exposure to weather and temperature extremes, drafts, noise, and dust. Two shifts are available: 1st Shift from 6/7am for 8+ hours, and 2nd Shift from 2/3pm for 8+ hours, Monday to Friday. Work will be conducted on the Flight Line and in the Back Shop, with Flight Line experience being highly beneficial.

This is a Permanent position based out of EDWARDS AFB, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $86000.00 - $89000.00/yr.
