    Job Title: Machinist Technician

    Job Description

    The Machinist Technician is responsible for machining and fitting various metal parts, tools, and machines, including hydraulics and pneumatics. This role requires an individual who can work independently, laying out work from blueprints, sketches, schematics, and other written specifications. The position involves setting up and operating all available machines and machine tools, performing progressive machining operations with very close tolerances or unique requirements.

    Responsibilities

    + Complete machining and fitting of all kinds of metal parts, tools, and machines with minimum supervision.

    + Lay out work from blueprints, sketches, schematics, and other written specifications.

    + Set up and operate all available machines and machine tools.

    + Perform progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements.

    + Determine operation sequences and use machinists’ hand tools skillfully.

    + Diagnose mechanical equipment failures, such as gearbox and leadscrew-related failures, and execute repairs.

    + Use measuring instruments typical of the trade to determine dimensions and quality of work performed.

    + Perform other duties as designated by supervisor, in the same salary grade or below.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in conventional and CNC machine tool functionality.

    + Ability to diagnose mechanical equipment failures and execute repairs.

    + Proficiency in using machinists' hand tools and measuring instruments.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + A vocational or high school education or equivalent is required.

    + On-the-job training to learn trade techniques and procedures.

    + 1 year of prior machining, ideally with experience in CNC.

    The pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $79040.00/yr.
