Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Press Technician to support our powder pressing operations. This role is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and operation of pressing equipment, ensuring consistent product quality and optimal machine performance. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Setup and Maintenance
+ Install and align powder pressing dies within machines using precision measuring tools.
+ Inspect dies for wear and damage; remove, polish, and reinstall as needed.
+ Perform incoming inspections of new die sets.
+ Maintain a die bank with various die sizes to support production needs.
Press Operation and Monitoring
+ Maintain and document press process parameters ("recipes") for each product.
+ Set up initial process parameters to achieve optimal green compact density and release to production operators.
+ Monitor press operations during production runs, troubleshoot issues, and correct deviations from standard processes.
Quality Control
+ Inspect pressed parts for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and other quality attributes using appropriate measuring tools.
+ Identify and report quality issues; support corrective actions.
+ Improve green compact yield and maintain a yield loss Pareto chart.
Press Maintenance
+ Identify and resolve mechanical issues, including replacing worn components.
+ Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
+ Maintain and manage spare parts inventory.
Qualifications:
+ Experience with powder pressing or similar manufacturing processes is a plus.
+ Strong mechanical skills and familiarity with precision measuring tools.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
+ Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
+ Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
