Description of Primary Duties
Purpose/Role of the Position: The Student Content Writer will work for the Citizenship & Service-Learning department to craft engaging blogs and stories that highlight various programs and initiatives. This role involves creating clear, compelling content while providing the student with practical experience in writing, editing, and content development.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Content Creation: Write and develop blog posts and stories that effectively communicate the impact and activities of Citizenship & Service-Learning programs.
+ Editing: Review and revise written content for clarity, coherence, and adherence to style guidelines.
+ Content Review: Ensure all content aligns with the intended message, tone, and audience, maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
+ May create content and media for social media platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, etc.
Occasional Duties and Responsibilities:
Support various Citizenship & Service-Learning programs with tasks such as event tabling, public relations, marketing, and basic data management.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Enrollment Status: Must be currently enrolled as a student at the institution.
+ Skills: Strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in content management tools and style guides (e.g., APA , AP).
+ Experience: Previous writing or content creation experience is preferred but not required. Relevant coursework in writing, English, or communications is advantageous.
+ Availability: Ability to commit to a regular schedule with flexibility for deadlines and peak periods.
