Essential Job Summary:
The Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing all health and safety programs across solid waste collection, transfer, recycling and disposal operations within their market. This role ensures that on-site facility and route activities are compliant with federal, state, and local safety and transportation policies and regulations. Safety Managers will report to the Market Area Safety Director.

+ **Program Compliance**
+ Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and local regulations.
+ Conduct regular observations and inspections to ensure that all safety practices, programs, record keeping, and other related activities are being followed and performed to company, customer, and regulatory standards.
+ Assist the frontline, managers, and supervisors to properly understand potential hazards, areas of improvement, and compliance requirements
+ **Training & Education**
+ Conduct/ Participate in market level safety stand-downs and training, meetings as needed.
+ Lead safety training programs for drivers, equipment operators, and facility staff.
+ Organize drills and simulations for emergency preparedness.
+ **Incident Management**
+ Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety violations.
+ Prepare detailed reports, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
+ Participateand lead Incident Review Team meetings as needed.
+ Assistin managed care of injuries.
+ **Risk Mitigation**
+ Identify potential hazards and implement proactive measures to reduce risk.
+ Oversee the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper usage.
+ Collaborate with operations to ensure safe routing, loading, and disposal practices.
+ **Regulatory Reporting & Documentation**
+ Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and incidents.
+ Monitortraining records for compliance with existing procedures to ensure that depots/facilities are keeping employees current with the required programs.
+ **Leadership & Culture**
+ Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas.
+ Promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the market
+ Provide coaching and support to supervisors and frontline employees.
+ Participate in safety committees and cross-functional teams.
Requirements and Qualifications:
+ Candidates should possess 3-5 years of experience, preferably in sanitation/ solid waste, transportation, or industrial operations.
+ Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and federal/state/ local Health & Safety and Transportation compliance regulations.
+ Good analytical and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
+ Excellent ability to communicate, collaborate, and partner with Operations to ensure safe operations across our sites.
+ Must be able to respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours.
+ Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between sites within the market. Frequent travel to field operations and transfer stations
+ Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range Minimum
USD $100,000.00/Yr.
Salary Range Maximum
USD $135,000.00/Yr.
