Howard University Hospital seeks to hire a n Audit Technician in the Revenue Management and Analytics department, who will embrace our rich and historic tradition of excellence. As an Audit Technician, you will: · Collects batched service charge slips from various revenue generating units in the Hospital. Checks to ensure that the number of procedures on the charge slips have been reconciled. · Verifies invalid patient account numbers and incomplete charge slips and returns wrong items to revenue generating units for correction and input. Maintains statistical logs of frequencies of errors by various departments. · Receives Hospital service charge slips after processing by the Data Processing Unit: reviews transmission control and error report indicating which procedures have been rejected and the reasons for rejections: using the error codes, determines causes for rejection. · Logs in, sorts and batches late charge skips by department verifying prices of services and completing transmittal sheets, identifying slips; utilizes charge description master list to determine correct price for services. · Assist other clerks by sorting skips by date of service and, checking procedures and prices on skips; prepares lists, correcting hospital account numbers when incorrect account numbers are the cause of service charge rejections. · Assists in the cost accounting functions and with problems relating to the charging of patients and the overall Hospital revenue structure. · Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications include: · High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) · Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an audit or accounting clerical position, preferably in a Hospital setting Position Details: · Job Type/FTE: 1.0 (Full-time) · Shift: Day Shift (M F 7:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m.) · Work Location: Washington, DC · Unit/Department: Revenue Management and Analytics · CBA Code: 2094-10 · Pay Range: $17.40 - $28.74/hour o Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility At Howard University Hospital our job is to care for you.
