As a Composite Technician II, you’ll apply your growing expertise in advanced composite materials to support critical aircraft maintenance and structural modification projects. Working under limited supervision, you will perform intermediate to complex repairs, modifications, and fabrications on composite and bonded structures using approved technical data, procedures, and specifications. You’ll demonstrate proficiency in techniques such as pre-preg layups, vacuum bagging, controlled cures, and structural bonding. In this role, you will interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to complete structural repairs across various aircraft platforms—including both general aviation and military derivative aircraft. Technicians at this level actively contribute to in-process inspections, mentor junior team members, and ensure all work aligns with FAA Part 145 Repair Station standards, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable FARs. You will also help maintain a clean and controlled work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications You Must Have:
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
+ A higher level degree may substitute for experience
+ Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
+ Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch
+ Experience with structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques, and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable
+ Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks
+ Must a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work location.
+ Basic understanding of Manufacture Maintenance Manual Libraries, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, Airworthiness Directives, technical orders, schematics, diagrams and blueprints.
+ Able to work different shifts including overtime if necessary
Qualifications We Prefer:
+ Typically 4 or more years of relevant experience is highly preferred
+ FAA CRS 145 Repair Station experience.
+ Familiarity with GOPS (Ground Operating Procedures) and DCMA (Department of Contract Management Agency) requirements.
+ Background in General and/or Corporate Aviation.
+ Experience with maintenance tracking database software applications such as CAMP Systems, Corridor, Cescom, CMP and AvTrak.
