    Job Description

    ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN FINANCE BOARD

The New York City Campaign Finance Board manages New York City’s small donor democracy program and educates and engages voters via NYC Votes. The CFB has enjoyed a tremendous arc of progress over its 30-year history, and our updated flagship small donor democracy program is the centerpiece of this progress.

We eliminate barriers to participation by providing access to the resources New Yorkers need to vote or run for office and amplify the voices of small donors with New York City’s small donor democracy program.

We are dedicated to making New York City’s local democracy more open, transparent, and equitable. You would be working with a team that is mission-driven and committed to continuous improvement.

    ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Marketing and Digital Communications unit leads the top-level marketing and communications strategy for the CFB and creates the strategy for all public-facing materials that directly engage and serve the needs of five million New Yorkers in thirteen languages through the agency’s voter engagement initiative, NYC Votes.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

The NYC Campaign Finance Board is seeking a Web Content Editor to manage and elevate the content and user experience on its public-facing websites: nycvotes.org and nyccfb.info. Join a growing team of content experts working across a variety of channels from social and video to long form writing and design. This role is ideal for a strategic and creative digital communicator passionate about civic engagement, accessibility, and public service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    - Manage and maintain all web content across NYC Votes and CFB websites.

    - Manage updates to the online Voter Guide and ensure accuracy for each election cycle.

    - Write, edit, and optimize content in plain language for diverse audiences.

    - Collaborate on UI/UX improvements and accessibility audits (WCAG compliance).

    - Use SEO and analytics tools to assess content performance and improve visibility.

    - Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align content with strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & OTHER BEHAVIORS (KSAOs)

We're seeking individuals eager to make an impact, even if they don't tick every box on our job description. We believe in the power of diverse perspectives and the unique blend of lived experiences, non-traditional education pathways, practical know-how, and a variety of skills and abilities that each candidate brings to the table. If you're ready to learn and grow with us, we encourage you to apply and be part of our dynamic team.
