POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Soft Tissue Therapist will work in the Philadelphia 76ers Athlete Care Department as part of a multi-disciplinary team, reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED, TO THE BELOW:
+ Provide soft tissue therapy assessment and treatment as required by players and health and performance staff (including practices, home and away games, and off days)
+ Provide recovery massage and treatment to players as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer.
+ Participate in regular meetings to discuss and plan players care and rehabilitation following injury.
+ Documentation and record keeping of all treatment notes for tracking and reporting purposes.
+ As part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on supporting a championship focused team, other duties may be assigned to best support the team’s success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Completion of Massage Therapy program accredited by the appropriate national or international governing body.
+ Minimum 5 years’ experience working with professional sports organizations, Basketball preferred.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Experience and knowledge using computers for computer-based programs, reports, and communication purposes.
+ Current license as a Physical Therapist or Massage Therapist in good standing.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Work Environment: The role requires that work be performed from the 76ers’ Training Complex in Camden, NJ, and attendance at events taking place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Travel Requirements: Travel as required to support team training needs.
+ Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift equipment up to 30 pounds.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $80k and $90k/year. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position will also include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
This position will be an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
