With more than 20 years of industry expertise, we deliver exceptional lifecycle professional services spanning Research and Development, Cloud Engineering, Digital Modernization, Systems and Software Engineering, DevSecOps, ITSM, Cybersecurity, Satellite Communication (SATCOM), RMF-FedRAMP, Logistics, Training, Exercises, COMSEC, and IT/Networking. ​​​​​​ Job Description The Network Systems Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers. This role involves performing system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, network and server resources and systems. You will review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups. Analyze network and service resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses. You may assist in network modeling, analysis, planning and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. Project Specific Duties: Responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of the organization's local area network. Manage network performance and maintain network security. Ensure that security procedures are implemented and enforced. Installs all network software. Evaluates, develops and maintains telecommunications systems. Troubleshoots network problems. Establishes and implements network policies, procedures, and standards and ensures their conformance with information systems and organization objectives. Trains users on network operation. Frequently reports to Senior Network Engineer/Description: Under direct supervision, maintains integrity of the operating system environment. Performs system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, testing, and coordination. Performs workstation and server administration setup. Coordinates disk space planning and management. Maintains growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries, and software and hardware inventories. Performs data backups and recoveries. Monitors and maintains continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements. Provides recommendations regarding hardware and system software planning and budgeting. Maintains production change control schedule and participates in change control. Position Responsibilities: · Configure and Monitor Cisco ASA and firepower firewalls. · Perform IOS upgrades and backups on network devices. · Verify and document security vulnerabilities on network devices. · Verify network device authentication. · Perform Tier II and III support. · Write and review network documentation. Recommended being familiar with the following software: · Cisco IOS XE · Cisco ASA · Cisco FTD · Cisco ASDM · Cisco Identity Services Engine · Cisco Firepower Management Center · Cisco SDWAN Qualifications: · Bachelor s degree + 5-years of Network Administration experience. · Associate s degree and at least 7-yrs experience in lieu of Bachelor s degree. · Active DoD Secret (or above) Security Clearance. · CompTIA Security+ Certification · Cisco Certification Network Administrator (CCNA) Certification · 5-yrs of experience working with: o Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls o Cisco IOS XE, ASA, FTD, ASDM, Identity Services Engine, Firepower Management Center, and SDWAN · Experience performing IOS upgrades and backups on network devices · Ability to verify and document security vulnerabilities and device authentication · Tier II and III support experience in a networked environment · Proficiency in writing and reviewing network documentation and implementing network policies Company Benefits: At Nexagen, we believe in taking care of our team from day one!
