As an Administrative Assistant III at the Needham Cancer Center, you’ll support a Harvard-affiliated, multidisciplinary oncology team that values both clinical excellence and work-life balance.

     

    This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, daytime role with no weekends, holidays, or evenings – giving you the stability and predictability to thrive both professionally and personally.     Job Description:

    Key Responsibilities

    + Serve as the main administrative contact for assigned Hematology/Oncology providers and their patients

    + Manage clinical templates and physician schedules

    + Obtain referrals and authorizations for patient visits

    + Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-ups, and multidisciplinary appointment planning

    + Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families in person and by phone

    + Prepare medical records and documentation in Web OMR and CCC

    + Transcribe notes and correspondence

    + Queue prescription renewals and perform initial medication list reviews for provider review

    + Maintain patient confidentiality and accuracy across all documentation

     

    What You Bring

    Required:

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + 3 to 5 years of administrative experience in a healthcare or medical office environment

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and electronic medical records

    + Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

    + Professionalism and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion

    Preferred:

    + Associate’s degree

    + Familiarity with Epic, CCC, or similar clinical systems

    + Experience in oncology, specialty, or ambulatory care environments
