    The team you will be a part of

     

    The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

     

    This role in summary

     

    To drive and enhance machine safety across the organization by providing expert guidance, leading key projects, and developing robust competencies within the EHS and Engineering teams, ultimately mitigating serious injury risks.

    Your responsibilities will include

    + Act as the primary technical resource for machine safety, providing expert guidance and support to manufacturing facilities, engineering teams, and management. This includes interpreting complex standards, developing practical solutions, and addressing challenging safety issues.

    + Provide guidance and expertise in machine safety to EHS and Engineering teams.

    + Run and/or guide engineers with machine safety projects.

    + Build competency in machine safety for EHS and Engineering.

    + Work closely with the Regional EHS team to develop strategies, competencies, training, and procedures for machine safety.

    + Help ensure compliance with machine safety standards, regulations, and company procedures through the Regional and Global EHS assessment process

    + Participate in efforts to improve the discipline of the machine safety monthly reporting process.

    + Contribute to finalizing and refreshing information in the regional machine database (Gensuite Machine Tracker), including planned dates for MSTQ completion and remediation.

    Minimum requirements

    + Extensive experience conducting machine risk assessments, developing safeguarding solutions, and performing validation activities.

    + Ability to provide leadership and guidance in machine safety initiatives.

    + Familiarity with machine safeguarding assessment processes and risk reduction measures.

    + Understanding of applicable machine safeguarding standards (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, ISO, CSA).

    + Engineering degree

    Preferred skills and experiences

    + Experience with safety control systems, including safety PLCs, safety relays, and various safety components

    + TUV certified
