    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    Represents Cardiovascular and Imaging Services on all administrative, fiscal and operational issues. Represents the departments by serving on hospital committees; collaborates with members of the medical staff, and with outside regulatory agencies and other organizations. Communicates and carries out hospital policies, procedures, and programs to/in the department, as appropriate through scheduled staff and department meetings.

     

    Works closely and collaboratively with all related physicians to ensure high quality services in support of clinical care.

     

    Compiles and analyzes statistical data concerning operational and fiscal activities, for the evaluation of current trends and forecasting future needs

     

    Evaluates and revises, as appropriate, systems and approaches within the operations of the departments by consulting with and/or visiting other similar departments, attending meetings and by consulting the appropriate literature.

     

    Assists the hospital administration in long-range planning consistent with the goals of the hospital including recommending new services and state-of-the-art technology.

     

    Continually reviews existing interdepartmental policies, procedures, and functions. Implements modifications to these procedures as are considered necessary for more effective departmental operations.

     

    Plans and submits all Operational/Capital budgets. Maintains financial control by conforming to approved budgets and by monitoring all department expenses.

     

    Responsible for all departmental personnel and for maintenance of an adequate departmental work force.

     

    Identifies staffing and performance improvement needs and administers requisite personnel action. The Director identifies strengths and weaknesses among staff and guides each staff member toward professional improvement through measurement, feedback, reinforcement, and discipline as indicated.

     

    Interviews, disciplines, selects, appoints, promotes, demotes, and discharges employees subject to existing personnel policies and budgetary limitations.

     

    Conducts performance evaluations on all direct report staff. Reviews and approves all performance evaluations on other staff. Submits all salary adjustment recommendations.

     

    Interprets hospital personnel policies as they apply to departmental personnel and analyzes and proposes changes to improve the coordination of inter and intradepartmental personnel.

     

    Maintains a high standard of customer service and responds to patient complaints, investigates and corrects service irregularities, forwarding unresolved cases to appropriate medical or administrative personnel.

     

    Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment in conjunction with the department lead staff.

     

    Other duties as assigned.

    Education & Experience:

    Certified Radiology Administrator - Preferred

     

    Bachelors Degree - Required

     

    Masters Degree - Preferred

     

    Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible Radiologic Technology experience in an approved hospital or similar institution, under the direct supervision of a qualified radiologist. - Required

     

    Two (2) years experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity – Preferred

     

    Graduation from approved school of Radiologic Technology and Diploma from 2 year, hospital based program; or a bachelor degree in Business or Radiology Administration - Required
