How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The successful candidate serves as an engineer within Delta's
TechOps Engineering organization. The tasks associated with this role are
specific to the engineering group and include, but are not limited to, the
following:
+ Fleet Avionics Engineering - Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance(CNS)
+ Provides aircraft engineering support to a variety ofinternal customers and outside suppliers to support daily operations and long-termreliability/cost effectiveness.
+ Reviews, recommends,and implements manufacturer’s service bulletins and other correspondence to affectedfleets.
+ Identify and develop solutions to maintain aircraft safety,reliability, and capability.
+ Research, develop, and manage avionics equipmentinstallation and retrofit projects. Includes on-site verification of projectwork instructions (Mock-Ups).
+ Maintains compliance with applicable FAA regulations andDelta's Technical Operations Policy and Procedures (TOPP) pertaining to thedevelopment of equipment alterations.
+ Provides status for aircraft issues through variousbriefings and documentation.
+ Supports maintaining the configuration and installation ofAvionics software for Delta’s fleets.
+ Supports shop, hangar, and line maintenance introubleshooting and providing corrective actions, including repair or deviationdocumentation for assigned discipline.
+ Maintains aircraft cybersecurity protocols, policy, andprocedures.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Candidates for this position should have:
+ B.S. in Engineering.
+ 3+ years in aviation experience
+ Computer programming or software development skills withMatlab, C++, Python are desirable.
+ For internal candidates, must beperforming satisfactorily in current position.
+ Accepts personal responsibilityfor assignments and acts with a sense of urgency when initiating the necessarysteps to complete them. Asks appropriate questions to ensure completeunderstanding of the task / objective and how solutions impact safety,schedules, and budgets.
+ Recognizes that shifting priorities and changing objectivesare normal in a business environment. Able to develop data under guidance orbased on similar work in past and/or provides feasible solutions to problemswith low uncertainty.
+ Demonstrates to team and leaderthat when tasks are assigned, timeline and quality commitments are met to theestablished goal.
+ Approaches work with an open mind, understands he/she willhave limitations and accepts feedback for development.
+ Acts with integrity andshows value for others.
+ Project management skills and mustbe capable of working in a team environment to creatively solve technicalproblems.
+ Have good interpersonal skills andthe ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
+ Must have good technical writingskills to effectively generate detailed engineering documents using excellent problem-solvingskills based on analytical methods.
+ Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self,others, and personal data.
+ Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high schoolequivalency.
+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work inthe United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
+ Previous airline, military,OEM, or MRO experience with commercial aircraft is preferred.
+ Electrical, Aerospace, orMechanical Engineering experience with Avionics focus.
+ Ability to interpret analytical reports, FAR's, AD’s, andother engineering documents/drawings.
+ Understanding of Aircraft Field Loadable Software supportand implementation
