    Description

    School Guidance Counselor

     

    Sign on Bonus - $5,000 (paid in 2 parts 1/2 at 30 days and 1/2 at a year)

     

    Monday - Friday - Days

     

    As a School Guidance Counselor, you will provide a comprehensive school guidance program to students with special needs. You will provide counseling support to all students regarding their graduation requirements and transition plans. You will oversee all aspects of State Mandated testing system, and the development and maintenance of all student scheduling to ensure that they are receiving the services mandated in the individual education plan. You will oversee the report card process ensuring that credits are assigned in accordance with all state education regulations. You will report to the Principal and will work onsite.

    Responsibilities:

    + Order, secure, score and organize the administration of all state mandated tests.

    + Complete and maintain all students’ schedules

    + Oversee the entire report card and five week interim process.

    + Maintain all student transcripts

    + Attend all High School student CSE meetings

    + Review all student intake paperwork and schedule pre-meeting with homeroom teacher.

    + Follow agency policies, procedures, and structures.

    Requirements and Education:

    + Masters Degree in School Counseling

    + NYS certification as a school guidance counselor
