    Summary

    The Packaging Mechanic diagnoses packaging equipment problems, repairs minor and major breakdown of high-speed packaging equipment, sets up and installs all packaging equipment, performs preventative maintenance items, improves line efficiencies, and ensures all equipment is in safe working condition.

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintaining and repairing packaging equipment, including conveyors, sealers, wrappers, and labeling machines.

     

    Troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production flow.

     

    Performing preventive maintenance according to schedules to avoid unexpected breakdowns.

     

    Adjusting machinery settings to accommodate different packaging formats or product specifications.

     

    Collaborating with production teams to meet packaging goals and ensure product quality.

     

    Documenting maintenance activities and equipment performance.

    Typical Education

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

    Relevant Experience

    3+ years related experience and/or training

    Other Information

    + Good knowledge of Computer Systems.

    + Experience with troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic Systems.

    + Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible and work well under pressure.

    + Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments.

    + Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment.
