    Job Summary:

    Advise/consult customers & sales reps (demonstrate product and application knowledge, build confidence, trust, respect. Specialize in all material handling and demolition equipment to maximize sales, profit, and market share. Sell full line of products to all assigned Industrial customers in territory. Support Ohio Cat's industrial/scrap, recycling, and demolition sales efforts, new, used and rentals. Assist Machine Sales Representatives in preparing quotes on material handlers, shears, and industry-related work tools and attachments, as well as special application machines. Prospect/monitor Industrial markets for Ohio Cat opportunities. Prospect/sell Caterpillar Material Handlers in assigned counties outside of Ohio Cat's Caterpillar territory. Assist MSRs with customers/prospects within Ohio Cat's Caterpillar territory

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Ability to recognize machine sale opportunities and prospect customers

    + Ability to prepare and present machine quotations, close deals

    + Ability to track long-term opportunities and continue contact with customers using Sales Link and other electronic tools

    + Prepare for and perform machine demonstrations and machine deliveries

    + Be proactive in conducting formal and informal training for Ohio Cat and customer personnel

    + Ability to work across Ohio Cat divisions and manage machine inventory projects

    + Provide a prominent level of internal and external customer satisfaction

    + Communicate regularly with regional sales and product support teams to share information, leads, and competitive activity within the assigned territory

    + Represent Ohio Cat at industrial, demolition, and material handling trade shows

    + Expected travel within assigned territory 75%+ of the time

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).

    + 5+ years of successful retail machine sales experience preferred.

    + 5+ years of related industry experience preferred.

    + Self-starter, ability to work without direct supervision

    Key Competencies:

    + Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

    + Ability to cold call/prospect customer.

    + Ability to work within a diverse customer base.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Worksheet/quotation accuracy required.

    + Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and change direction/strategy when circumstances change.

    + Assess and develop company resources (people/materials) required to support industrial sales efforts.

    + Highly energetic, outgoing, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.

    Physical Requirements:

    Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and the abilities to exchange information both verbally as well as through written communication as needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible. Lifting/Carrying 40 lb.
