The Pathology Department is seeking a **_Clinical Laboratory Specialist_** will oversee and conduct a variety of complex tests and lead in the development of new assays and techniques. The Clinical Laboratory Specialist will work with Pathologists and others to perform tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
+ Perform assay development.
+ Apply subject matter expertise and knowledge to execute tests and analyze results.
+ Teach learners assigned to the lab, e.g. residents and clinical research fellows
+ Lead and/or participate in laboratory projects
+ Exercise independence in reviewing, understanding, and applying information found in literature in consultation with pathologists.
+ Collaborate with technologists performing newly developed tests clinically
+ May contribute to presentations at national conferences and publications.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
+ Five years' experience in a comparable laboratory performing relevant techniques.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Role/Level/Range: ACRP/04/MD
Starting Salary Range: $55,800 - $97,600 Annually ($70,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)
Employee group: Full Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
FLSA Status: Exempt

The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting.
