    Job Description

    As the Internal Communications Coordinator, you’ll bring important health information to life for our staff and stakeholders. In this role, you’ll create clear, engaging messaging that connects employees to our mission and keeps them informed. You’ll also serve as the department’s Public Information Officer, helping share our story with the community and media.

    What You’ll Do:

    + Keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with department goals

    + Develop and deliver clear, compelling content across channels (newsletters, intranet, social media, presentations)

    + Serve as spokesperson and media contact, building positive relationships with media outlets

    + Lead risk communication strategies for public health events

    + Support special events, campaigns, and community outreach

    + Maintain consistent brand standards and clear, error-free materials

    + Create reports and evaluate communication effectiveness

    + Train staff on internal communication best practices

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Relations (or 3 years of relevant experience in place of a degree)

    + At least 1 year of related experience (internships and volunteer work welcome)

    + Skill in photography and basic video production/editing

    + Ability to write clear, concise, well-structured content

    Preferred:

    + Master’s degree in a relevant field

    + 3+ years of experience in communications

    + Familiarity with social media strategy

    + Experience working with leadership to engage internal teams
