    To perform a variety of complex duties to support oncology services at Wilson Medical Center. Provide administrative support to the Director of Oncology and management of tumor board and the Commission on Cancer. This position involves interacting with other members of the oncology service line and healthcare team to facilitate communication, accurate record keeping while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.

     

    Provide management and oversight of multiple oncology clinical trials conducted at Wilson Medical Center in collaboration with the Duke Cancer Network.

     

    Perform specific regulatory processes across multiple studies and different therapeutic areas and phases in accordance with appropriate regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and study specific protocols/plans and processes. Oversee the financial processes involved in coordinating and maintaining a multi-site clinical research program. Coordinate pre-award and post-award activities. Works with investigators to negotiate study budgets/MOUs and to prepare the Medicare Coverage Analysis and internal cost summaries. Ensures new proposals are entered into and routed in a timely manner for further review. Post-award activities include detailed reconciliation of assigned project budget, facilitating sponsor invoicing and coordination site payments.

     

    This position will start part-time: 20 hours per week.

     

    * Work requires graduation from an accredited bachelor’s Program

    o Prefer: Graduation from an accredited degree program in Clinical Research Field, such as a Bachelors in Clinical Research, plus two years of healthcare experience in the clinical research setting or the following equivalent*and/or*

    o Graduation from an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing or other related clinical field.

    * Oncology experience preferred

    * Prefer knowledge/experience in clinical research

    • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills

    * Proficiency with computer software including word processing and databases
