    Position Summary:

    Sovah Martinsville is seeking a PRN Radiology Tech Student to perform various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

    Junior Student:

    * Assists the technologist with obtaining radiographs with stationary and fluoroscopic equipment.

    * Assists the technologist with obtaining radiographs with portable units as deemed necessary on the nursing units, as well as within the radiology department.

    * Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

    * Prepares equipment and supplies.

    * Assists technologists with positioning patients and the performance of imaging procedures.

    * Assures appropriate orders are obtained and followed during the performance of all procedures. Verifies patient identification before the performance of any procedure.

    *Minimum Education:*

    * High school diploma or equivalent required.

    * Enrolled in a Program in Radiologic Technology is required.

    *Required Skills: *

    * Required critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

    * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

    *Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including week-ends and holidays, to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of imaging coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville.*

    *Required Certifications/Licenses: *

    * Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required.

    *Minimum Work Experience: *

    * Current clinical experience in a Radiologic Technology program.
