    Residential Direct Support Professional

    *Evening/Overnight Position(s) Available!*

     

    DSP(s) have the privilege of working directly with people who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

     

    In this role, you will be actively providing encouragement, mentoring and coaching with the goal of successfully assisting those in which you support. DSP's are depended on to assist with life's essential activities, that include but are not limited to: getting out of bed, getting dressed, going to the bathroom, finding a job, going to appointments, shopping, etc.

     

    The role of a DSP is to support-helping people learn, identify and explore their independence!

    Responsibilities:

    Work with individuals to plan, coordinate and participate in social, recreational, and community activities.

     

    Provide care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home setting.

     

    Assist the people you support to direct the course of their own lives, promoting advocacy, self-confidence, and independence.

     

    Support the emotional, physical, and personal well-being of the people receiving support.

     

    Assist the people you support with their daily tasks and routines.

     

    Support individuals in learning life skills related to all aspects of their lives including money management, shopping, and tasks required to maintain a home.

     

    Assist individuals with personal care and hygiene as needed.

    Requirements:

    High School diploma or equivalent

     

    Be at least 18 years of age or older

     

    Valid NYS driver's license
