• Adjunct: Spanish (Fall 2025)

    Genesee Community College (Batavia, NY)


    GENERAL FUNCTIONS

    Teach one to three sections of intermediate level Spanish for Genesee Community College's Accelerated College Enrollment (ACE) Program (College courses for advanced high school students).

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

    Teach courses in Spanish asynchronously or synchronously depending upon student and instructor schedule availability.

     

    Collaborate and coordinate with the ACE Programs and Online Learning offices to deliver intermediate Spanish course to high school students in the region.

     

    Occasional communication with high school teachers to enhance student understanding and success.

Incumbent must be mindful of and develop solutions that can accommodate all individuals to use GCC facilities without barriers, both digitally and physically.

    Job Requirements:

    Education

    Masters in Spanish or related area required.

    Experience

    Preference given to candidates with experience teaching Spanish at high school and college level.

     

    Special Skills

     

    Strong teaching skills with familiarity with a wide range of instructional strategies in foreign languages, including interest in computer assisted instruction required. Native or near native speaking ability required. Experience with Latin American, Peninsular, and/or Latino culture in the US strongly desired. Ability to teach a second language desirable. Experience teaching online courses utilizing a learning management system (LMS) preferred. Must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity.

This position pays a rate of $825 per contact or credit hour.
