Job Summary

The Culinary Cook is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality meals for a variety of large-scale events hosted at the convention center, including banquets, conferences, trade shows, and private functions. This role demands precision, efficiency, and a passion for culinary excellence in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and event specifications.

+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations in compliance with health and safety regulations.

+ Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste.

+ Collaborate with Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and consistent food service.

+ Follow event orders and production sheets to meet the needs of diverse functions and guest counts.

+ Season and taste food to ensure quality and consistency.

+ Participate in post-event breakdown and kitchen sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or degree preferred.

+ Minimum 1 year of experience in a high-volume kitchen, banquet, or catering environment.

+ Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen equipment operation.

+ Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

+ Capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

+ Team-oriented with excellent communication and time management skills.

+ Experience with large-scale food production and plating.

+ Familiarity with diverse cuisines and dietary accommodations.

+ Ability to adapt quickly to changing event needs and guest preferences.

This position operates within a dynamic convention center kitchen, serving thousands of guests across multiple events. The Culinary Cook must thrive under pressure and maintain a high standard of professionalism and culinary integrity.
