**Summary** :

The Senior Art Director is a visual innovator and leader who delivers high-quality competitive visuals that stand out. Design and produce competitive graphics that align with the news team and marketing objectives. Collaborate closely with graphics, marketing, and production teams to ensure cohesive design execution. You will also oversee all aspects of the design production process to maintain high standards, as well as provide visual leadership to the team while adapting to changes and tight deadlines.

This role will report to the Executive Creative Director, Motion Graphics and Design for ABC News.

Role Overview:

+ Must be highly creative, innovative, extremely motivated, organized and able to handle creative pressures under tight deadlines.

+ Needs to be an ingenious visual problem solver.

+ Manage quick turnaround of graphics assets sometimes with rapid changes.

+ Able to collaborate with others and work independently as the situation demands.

+ Be able to synthesize creative asks and requirements and make decisions about production capabilities and challenges.

+ Create graphics as well as manage art director/artists and projects with great competence and skill.

Basic Qualifications:

+ At least seven (7) years as a designer overseeing motion graphics production in a multi-media environment.

+ Exceptional communication and presentation skills, work ethic, and a desire to be in a media and breaking news environment.

+ Ability to think & communicate clearly and effectively, contributing to all discussions and strategy during the entire design process, from concept through completion.

+ Excellent people skills; must be able to partner with creative staff and production.

+ Strong information graphics design with editorial background/experience.

+ Detail-oriented with proficiency at managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.

+ Hands-on proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite and either C4D or Maya.

+ Superior typography and design sensibilities

+ Knowledge of graphics software such as XPression and VizRt, and live graphics production experience is a bonus.

+ Familiar with graphics workflows for Vizrt, Xpression, Adobe Suite

Preferred Education:

Masters or College Design Degree

Preferred Experience:

10+ years total experience in Graphic Design in streaming or Broadcast industries.

The hiring range for this position in 7 Hudson Square, NYC is $143,600.00 to $192,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
