Harborview Medical Center Environmental Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Custodian Supervisor.
WORK SCHEDULE
100% FTE (40 hours per week)
Day Shift
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Supervise a staff of 25 or more custodians and one Custodial Supervisor
Train subordinates and performs administrative responsibilities such as recommending supply levels, staffing levels, staff training requirements, and department policies and procedures
Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general direction, serve as a second-line supervisor in a custodial department
With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, conduct training, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action
Determines staffing needs of assigned building; analyze workloads and assign work to employees
Train new staff that have been hired into Housekeeping and Linen departments
Will supervise the First Shift (Day Shift) staff in the Trauma Emergency Room, making sure all areas are cleaned according to policy
Inspect buildings to determine cleaning needs and job assignments. Monitor hand hygiene compliance, retrain as needed and report findings to Operation Manager
Prepare reports related to custodial services, such as equipment inventories and custodial procedures
REQUIREMENTS
Three years of experience in custodial or general maintenance work
Two years of experience as a Custodian Supervisor 1
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

$57,648.00 annual
