At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a Ultrasound/Vascular Technician to join our team.

The primary responsibility of the Ultrasound/Vascular Technician is:

* Selects appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications.

* Explains and performs the procedure with consideration to the level of understanding and age appropriateness of the patient.

* Able to assess patient pain by interfering with imaging procedures, makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.

* Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/ healthcare errors.

* Selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the body part to be examined, the depth of field and other specifications of the test.

* Understands and practices proper use of all equipment.

* Performs procedures in accordance with established standards and protocols.

* Document patient information appropriately.

* Adjust and maintain equipment

An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

* A Bachelor of Science degree is preferred but not required.

* Two years of Ultrasound/Vascular experience.

* American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)- Currently registered-minimal certifications- RDMS abdomen (AB) and vascular (RVT)

* Current BLS certification.

* High integrity, able to follow procedures.

* Ability to be a self-motivated learner, to take initiative in learning the many complex processes.

* Always exhibits professionalism and understands appropriate workplace behavior/communications.

* Confidentiality a must.
