Description
Summary
The Education Manager will lead early childhood education including curriculum, assessment, screening, child observation, and lesson planning and will manage the professional development implementation strategy, including mentoring and coaching. The Manager will demonstrate a commitment to early childhood education best practices, an understanding of Head Start Performance Standards and Great Start Readiness Program Requirements, curriculum requirements and the ability to lead innovation.
Education and/or Experience
+ Bachelor's degree with a major in early childhood education, social work or a related field
+ Master's degree in a related field is preferred
+ Five years of experience including experience with early childhood education including curriculum planning, assessments and lesson planning
+ Evidence of planning and execution of Professional Development for adult learners, including coaching
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
+ Manage early childhood education including curriculum, assessment, screening, child observation, and lesson planning
+ Lead and develop professional development implementation strategy, including mentoring and coaching
+ Lead professional development/talent management for staff, including working in conjunction with Value Acceleration to develop processes and procedures for ensuring professional development requirements are met
+ Manage instructional supports alignment and coordination (specialists and other supports)
+ Work with the Education / Curriculum Director to identify and pursue internal and external collaborations and resources to advance our Early Childhood agenda
+ Provide direction to Education/Curriculum Specialists and Home Visitors regarding best practices and latest research in early childhood education techniques
+ Provide direction and assistance to Disability Specialists in support of early childhood special education supports and services
+ Collaborate with Training Manager to implement the professional development strategy.
+ Insure compliance with internal policies and procedures and provide recommendations to management related to: continuous improvement, best practices, process improvement
+ Develop and retain the best and brightest early childhood talent and staff at Starfish Family Services
