    Overview

     

    UnityPoint-St Luke's Hospital Coffee Shop

     

    PRN (as needed)

     

    Weekend day shift needed

     

    Prepare, provide and serve attractive and quality food and beverages with a friendly, safe and courteous manner to all customers in accordance with all department policies & procedures. Perform duties of cleaning and sanitizing dishes, pans, and equipment throughout the department. To stock display cases and coolers. Provide excellent customer service.

    Responsibilities

    Customer Service/Patient Care

     

    + Prepares, provides, and serves attractive and quality food and service as assigned.

    + Maintains good portion control.

    + Utilizes positive customer service skills such as smiling, offering suggestions, providing for special requests, etc.

    + Fulfills any and all other designated tasks pertinent to the success of the NFS department.

     

    Technical & Safety

     

    + Correctly operate department equipment that has been assigned.

    + Clean and restock dishes, food, supplies, and beverages during hours of operation as assigned.

    + Practices HACCP guidelines for food handling and a sanitary and safe condition. Reports any equipment malfunction to a supervisor. Monitors and records temperatures, utilizes safe food handling techniques, maintains a clean orderly work station.

    + Ensures cash is balanced each shift and reviewed by a Team Lead or Supervisor.

    + Checks out with Supervisor or Team Lead at the end of their shift.

    Qualifications

    + Coffee shop experience preferred.

    + ServSafe Food Handler (Training Provided)

    + Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.

    + Multicultural sensitivity.

    + Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.

    + Customer/patient focused.

    + Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.

    + Machines: Espresso machine, milk steamer, coffee urn, refrigerators, freezers, knives, and any other pertinent food service equipment.
