• Shipping Manager

    We are looking for an experienced Shipping & Warehouse Manager with a background in apparel, footwear, accessories, and other soft goods. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about both bulk distribution to retailers as well as direct-to-consumer order fulfillment.

     

    This individual will report directly to the Director of Operations.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Control the execution of all outbound shipments of finished goods and the processing of inbound returns

    + Oversee the daily functions of the shipping department

    + Manage office personnel, forklift drivers, stackers, pickers, and packers

    + Oversee the staging of customer deliveries for shipment

    + Implement all company standard operating procedures

    + Ensure that the proper processes are put into place to ensure that company SOP’s are followed by all personnel within the warehouse

    + Keep shipping operations within budget without compromising speed or efficiency

    + Establish a level of acceptable performance for personnel and mentor to exceed daily expectations.

    + Work closely with the Quality Control department to ensure all procedures are followed and recorded

    + Responsible for cross training of personnel

    + Collaborate with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment

    + Evaluate carrier performance and resolving issues with orders and logistics

    Skills & Qualifications:

    + Bilingual English & Spanish required

    + Previous apparel or soft good shipping/warehouse experience

    + Excellent leadership skills, including the abilities to set goals, motivate and manage conflict

    + Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening

    + Great interpersonal skills

    + Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities

    + Exceptional time management and organization skills

    + In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for the warehouse

    + Familiarity with bookkeeping, inventory control practices and logistics

    + Comfortable using inventory management software and other organizational computer applications

    + Physical strength, stamina and the ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
