    Position Summary:

    The Accounting Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of our accounts payable operations. This individual will be primarily responsible for processing accounts payable entries related to drop ship and expense invoices, managing employee expense reports, and reviewing and coding company credit card transactions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in both independent and team-oriented environments. A passion for continuous learning, strong customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively are essential for success in this role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Process and record accounts payable transactions for drop ship and expense invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding according to company policies.

    + Review, verify, and process employee expense reports, confirming compliance with company guidelines and resolving discrepancies as needed.

    + Review and code company credit card transactions, collaborating with employees to ensure timely and accurate allocation to appropriate accounts and cost centers.

    + Assist with the month-end close process by ensuring all AP entries and expense-related transactions are complete and accurate.

    + Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external inquiries related to accounts payable and expense management.

    + Work closely with the sales support team and other internal associates to identify, investigate, and resolve issues related to AP entries, expense reports, and credit card transactions.

    + Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and security of sensitive financial data at all times.

    + Support process improvement initiatives and participate in special projects as assigned by Accounting leadership.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

    + Demonstrated experience coding and processing accounts payable transactions, including drop ship and expense invoices.

    + Familiarity with expense report review and credit card transaction coding is highly desirable.

    + Strong proficiency with Excel (basic to intermediate functions, VLOOKUP required); experience with ERP systems such as Acumatica or other Windows-based platforms is a plus.

    + Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all work performed.

    + Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies independently.

    + Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders.

    + Exceptional customer service orientation and a drive to meet internal and external client needs.

    + Highly organized, adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    + Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

    + Motivated to continually learn and adapt to new systems, technologies, and processes.
